On 5 November, Dorota Rzążewska, the Managing Partner of JWP Patent & Trademark Attorneys, was elected the President of the Polish Chamber of Patent and Trademark Attorneys. Before that date Dorota Rzążewska held the position of the President of the Masovian District of the Chamber. She also participated in the works of the Chamber’s Legislation Committee.
For more than 20 years, Dorota Rzążewska has been involved in the protection and strategic management of industrial and intellectual property. She represents clients in infringement matters before the Polish and European Union courts and offices. She is active in business organisations supporting the increase of interest in the role of intellectual property protection in business strategy of companies. Moreover, she is the arbitrator for .pl & .eu domain names and the member of international organizations involved in the protection of industrial and intellectual property. She often comments the changes to industrial property law and is the author of expert publications in the press. Dorota Rzążewska is the winner of many awards, such as Client Choice 2013 and 2014 and IP Star.
Dorota Rzążewska graduated from the Faculty of Law at the Warsaw University and completed postgraduate studies (copyright, competition law) at the Jagiellonian University. She is a qualified attorney at law, patent & trademark attorney and mediator in intellectual property matters.
In 2012 Dorota Rzążewska established the JWP Foundation Idea|Patent|Profit whose mission is to spread knowledge about the protection of intellectual and industrial property. In the Foundation, she runs very popular workshops and training sessions for entrepreneurs, academic staff, students and young people.
As the President of the Polish Chamber of Patent and Trademark Attorneys, Dorota Rzążewska is in charge of the works of self-governing organization of patent and trademark attorneys and will represent the interests of this professional group.
