What is fair use?
Polish copyright law includes provisions defining permissible use of protected works. They allow personal use of a work that has already been distributed without the author’s consent or having to pay any fees. Permitted personal use includes giving a copy of a work to a close one (provided that the copy was obtained from a legal source). Fair use does not include the use of architectural designs to build one’s own structures or the use of electronic databases that meet the criteria of a work, except for one’s own scientific non-commercial use.
